Strength Shop maces are the definition of a functional training implement.
Origins
Part of a revival of ancient, simple, and deadly effective training modalities, mace training originates in South Asia and the Middle East, where warriors and wrestlers swung maces as part of a functional training routine that gave them a competitive edge in both battle and sport.
Today, most of us won´t be swinging a mace on the battlefield, but that doesn´t mean you can´t have the core strength and shoulder mobility of an ancient Persian warrior!
How does it work?
By placing the vast majority of the weight at the end of a long lever, mace training recruits your grip, core and stabilizers as you perform challenging and unorthodox exercises under uneven loads.
While the mace is most often used in dynamic, upper body swinging and rotational exercises, it is also a great way to spice up more traditional movements with a wealth of squat, lunge, press and curl variations.
Why train with a mace?
Training with a mace perfectly compliments more conventional strength and conditioning work, and is especially well suited to athletes who must generate force from varied and unpredictable angles.
Whether throwing a ball or a punch, or using implements such as sticks or paddles, mace training increases athletic performance by effectively training mobility, force generation and motor control over awkward loads and levers.
The mace is also a wonderful addition to powerlifting, strongman, or bodybuilding programming, as well as for the desk-bound, as it effectively strengthens, stabilizes, rehabilitates, and increases the range of motion in the shoulder joint.
Specs:
Material: Solid cast iron ball, steel handle
Handle Length: approx. 95 cm
Handle Diameter: 4 cm
Handle Knurling: Soft
Much like kettlebell training, it´s good to start with a lower weight than expected, and work your way up as your strength and functional range of motion increases. Note that you can effectively adjust the weight of the mace by moving your grip up or down the length of the handle, thereby adjusting the length of the lever.

I have all steel maces from 4 up to 15kg (non competition type) from different brands with a varied level of satisfaction. I decided to add a light weight mace 3kg of Strengthshop for single handed warm-ups & long sets up to hundred reps. I like the soft knurling & length, shape, paint quality is medium - not mat powder coated as I have from Gravity Fitness f.e. Even though packaging was great mace had scratches from metal stables used to reinforce packing - this requires more attention even its minor yet visually scratches suck & could be avoided. There was no indication handle diameter on this weight would be 32mm, yet it’s ok for such weight. The whole process of order & delivery processing was high standard. I might try the competition macebell in future.

Hi Serguey,
thanks a lot for taking the time to share your experiences with this product. We are pleased that you are generally satisfied and are considering another purchase. We have already emailed you about the minor defects in the coating and look forward to your reply.
Macebell 3kg. I am a regular MB user, first time trying this brand. I have many weights & brands from 4-15kg. This one I like the paint quality & smooth longer Knurling closer the the top edge. So, quality is good, design, functionality, have to check true weight yet. Packaging was great yet the staples leave scratches in both ends & bubble plastic cn not prevent it, so visually those scratches suck. There is no mention that MB 3kg handle diameter is 30mm & it is, I was expecting a 40mm diameter as described. Delivery WS good via UPS, order processing, all correct. This is a higher than regular quality Macebell. I use light MB for flows, shoulder therapy & take them outdoors & day trips for content making. 30mm diameter handle is deceptive as visually is not so cool & not same for flow as 40mm. So I might use it for warm-ups & one-handed flows.

These maces are premium quailty, only cons is that is out of stock… i am waiting for them, i want to order more for my gym :)
I have 2x3kg and 1x15kg maces
I consider myself as a quite strong person for an average office worker, so when choosing which mace to buy first, I decided to go for 15 kilos mace. Do not repeat my mistake, do not buy the toughest one as your first one. I was able to do some exercises with it, but a very few ones. So next one I bought was 9 kilos, and still after six months of working out with it I think it is a best core strength builder. Later I thought it would be cool to have some lighter maces, so now I got also 3 and 6 kilos and I cannot express how much I like them too.
So I use 3 kilos - for forearms warm-up ; 6 kilos for core warm-up or specific endurance training, 9 kilos for core strength building and forearms total annihilation, and 15 kilos for some specific exercises like lateral squats, shoulder press or Romanian one leg deadlifts.
I just wonder what 12 kilos will be like.
The macebell is great. I ordered 6kg and it's really good for a beginner. Quality is also nice. I like the grip. Not too harsh for the hands, but not too smooth either. Feels like a quality tool overall. Im happy!
Love the singing of the maces on these. I've Put them upright next to each other and accidently knocked them all over. It was like hearing wind chimes during a storm.

Thank you for your feedback. We're really glad to hear you're happy with the product, but we're truly sorry to hear about the delivery experience, that’s definitely not the service we expect from our couriers. We’ll pass this along to UPS and follow up with them to help prevent this in the future. Thank you for bringing it to our attention.
A very diverse ancient training tool that everybody should have in their training tool selection.
Delivery was fast, sufficiently packaged. The welding seam or whatever between the handle and the weight wasnt exactly impressive, but thats just a minor visual problem and doesnt impact working out. But otherwise seems like a good quality product!
I love the mace! The handle length and diameter is perfect and the knurling is not too aggressive. I had to get a 4kg mace from another company as I realised the 6kg would be too heavy for me to start with and the jump from the 3kg that this shop has would be too big. After swinging the 4kg for a few weeks, I feel ready to swing the 6kg now.
