Built to Perform – The New Strongman Competition Log

Our updated Strongman Log is designed to give you more from every lift. It keeps the familiar 32cm outer diameter, but now comes with a 140cm main body, making it fully rack-compatible - perfect for both training and competition settings.

Made from 6mm thick black powder-coated steel, it’s built to handle serious weight while looking sharp. The 32mm knurled handles give you a solid grip, and the 620mm handle spacing supports a strong, comfortable grip position.

The bolt-on loading sleeves make shipping and assembly simpler without sacrificing strength. And to make sure it holds up under pressure, it’s been drop-tested from over 2 meters with 100kg - no problem.

Compatible with our Modular Rack Range, this is a tough, no-nonsense tool for anyone serious about Strongman training.

Safety Use Notice

This log is designed to handle intense use, but safe handling and setup are essential:

  • Do not drop directly onto hard concrete or bare floors.
  • Always use tyres, crash pads, or dedicated log drop pads/matting to absorb impact and prevent damage to both the equipment and your floor.
  • Logs should only be lowered under control—not thrown from overhead.

Following these precautions will extend the life of the equipment and ensure a safer training environment.

Description

When you're pressing a strongman log for reps and it's coming back down whether you like it or not, you need somewhere for it to land that won't wreck your platform, your flooring, or the log itself. The Strongman Log Drop Pads are built exactly for that — heavy-duty landing pads placed either side of the platform so every drop gets absorbed instead of transferred straight into the floor.

What's New in V2

This update goes straight at the biggest wear point on the original design: seams. The V2 cover is a single-piece outer shell, so there are no exposed seams left to take repeated impact and eventually split. A laced closure runs the pad instead, which keeps the cover pulled drum-tight over the foam for the long haul — as the pad breaks in, you can re-tension the lacing rather than living with a cover that's gone loose.

Mesh side vents let air move through the pad between sessions instead of trapping heat and moisture inside. Underneath all of that, it's the same inner foam block that's already proven itself in V1 — this update is about the shell surviving longer, not reinventing what's inside.

Built for Repeated Heavy Impact

The outer shell is 1000D PVC, chosen for abrasion resistance against a steel or wooden log dropping onto it set after set. At 150 x 40 x 30 cm assembled, each pad is long and substantial enough to give you a real safety margin around the platform, not just a token strip of padding.

Sold as a Pair

You get two pads — one for each side of the platform — so the log has a controlled landing zone whichever way it comes down.

Key Highlights

  • 1-piece outer shell — no exposed seams to wear through or split
  • Laced closure keeps the cover tight over the pad's full lifespan
  • Mesh side vents for airflow between sessions
  • Same proven inner foam block as V1
  • 1000D PVC outer shell for high abrasion resistance
  • 150 x 40 x 30 cm per pad — full-length platform coverage
  • Protects both flooring and the log itself from repeated drop impact
  • Sold as a pair (2 pads) for both sides of the platform
  • Built for strongman log press training and competition prep

FAQ

What are Log Drop Pads actually for?

They sit either side of your platform so that when you drop a strongman log after a rep or a set, the impact lands on the pad instead of your platform, your flooring, or the log itself.

What's actually different in V2 vs V1?

The outer cover. V2 uses a single-piece, seamless outer shell with a laced closure instead of a cover with exposed seams — the goal was to remove the weak point that wears out first. The inner foam block is unchanged from V1.

Can I re-tighten the cover as it wears in?

Yes — the laced closure is designed so you can re-tension it over the pad's lifespan, keeping the cover snug instead of loosening up permanently like a sewn-only cover would.

How many pads come in an order?

They're sold as a pair — two pads, one for each side of the platform.

What material is the outer shell made from?

1000D PVC, chosen for its resistance to abrasion and repeated impact from a dropped log.

Do these work for any strongman log, or just specific sizes?

At 150 x 40 x 30 cm per pad, they're sized to give full-length coverage along a standard platform edge and work with standard strongman log implements.

Why wear elbow sleeves?

Increased support: Elbow sleeves help to keep your elbow properly aligned during pressing movements, reducing the risk of injuries from poor form.

Improved circulation: The compression of elbow sleeves helps to stimulate blood flow, aiding in quicker recovery and reducing DOMS (Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness).

Reduced risk of injury: By providing protective cushioning and support to the tendons and muscles, elbow sleeves can reduce the chance of strains and sprains.

Enhanced performance: By keeping the elbow joint warm and compressed, elbow sleeves enable an improved range of motion, meaning you can lift more weight.

Accelerated recovery: For those recovering from an injury or strain, elbow sleeves can provide therapeutic warmth and compression, speeding up the healing process.

Triple-ply elbow sleeves

The Strength Shop Triple-ply Elbow Sleeves offer a high-degree of support, and are ideal for lifting heavy weights. They’re popular with powerlifters, weightlifters, and strong(wo)men.

FAQ

How do I wash the triple-ply elbow sleeves?
For best care, hand wash your triple-ply elbow sleeves using cool water and a mild detergent. After washing, gently press to release excess water (avoid twisting or wringing), and let them air dry by laying flat. It's advisable to avoid bleach and not to machine dry to maintain the sleeve's integrity and support.

What’s the difference between using a triple-ply elbow sleeve and single or double-ply?
Triple-ply elbow sleeves are designed for maximum support, making them a top choice for advanced lifters. While they offer the most protection, there's a trade-off in mobility compared to single-ply or double-ply sleeves, given the additional sleeve thickness.

How can I find the right size for my triple-ply elbow sleeve?
To find the best fit, measure the circumference of your forearm and match it to the size table above. The design intends for a snug fit to deliver peak support, but if you're looking for a bit more room, consider sizing up.
