Set Up The Optimal Lifting Station

The compact setup provides an ideal environment for squatting, benching, various pressing exercises, pull-ups, and more. This rack allows you to perform any powerlifting lift with safety. The J-Hooks can be positioned at either the front or back of the cage for added convenience. The numbered uprights have a laser-cut numbering on both the front and back, making handling even simpler. Constructed with sturdy and high-quality 75mm x 75mm uprights made from durable 3mm steel, these racks offer commercial-grade quality – perfect for both ambitious home setups and professional facilities. Rated to support a 500kg static load, they can withstand heavy and intense lifting sessions. All Compact Racks should be bolted into the floor, otherwise safe use cannot be guaranteed. Alternatively, add Riot Small Feet to the front of the rack for safe use. To increase the overall stability of the rack, add another 1075 Crossmember at the bottom. Available in three heights, these racks fit seamlessly into any gym space, including garage setups or areas with low ceilings.

Westside Spacing

Featuring a “Westside” 25mm hole-spacing on our Riot MRR Racks allows for precise adjustments of bar and safety pin heights. In a “Westside”-Style rack, the pin holes are smaller, measuring 17mm, and are positioned closer together, 25mm in the MRR system. This allows for more accurate adjustments when setting up the height of your bar or safety pins. This is optimal for lifts like the bench press, where small height changes can impact the quality of the lift-off. It is designed to support lifters of different sizes, ensuring the bar is set at the perfect height for both initiation of the lift and safety.

The precise hole spacing, inside numbering and durable structure safely supports your training, and makes transitions between different exercises super smooth.

FAQs

Product

What's the main difference between the Riot MRR range and the Original MRR range?

Same, same but different: The key differences between the Riot MRR and Original MRR racks (Original Range is launching in early 2025) lie in their sturdiness and versatility. The Riot MRR is constructed with a robust 75mm box section, while the Original MRR uses a slightly smaller 60mm box section. Additionally, the Riot MRR features Westside hole spacing, providing more precise bar and safeties placement compared to the standard spacing on the Original MRR. This makes the Riot MRR ideal for advanced setups and professional use.

Both racks are compatible with a wide range of accessories—many of which are interchangeable—but the Riot MRR is designed to support even more future options. In short, if you're seeking a budget-friendly solution for your home gym with plenty of potential for future add-ons, the Original MRR is a solid choice. However, if you're prioritizing long-term flexibility and professional-level performance, the Riot MRR comes out on top.

What materials are the modular racks made from?

All components of the Riot and Original MRR range are made from high-quality, black powder-coated steel, unless stated otherwise. Unlike many other brands, our cage uprights and crossbeams come with a wall thickness of 3mm, ensuring durability and strength. If a specific component has a different material or thickness, this information will be clearly indicated in the product details or specification sheet.

Are the Riot MRR and Original MRR range interchangeable?

No, the Riot MRR and Original MRR ranges aren`t interchangeable.

While both racks can share a range of accessories (check them out here: https://strengthshop.eu/collections/riot-mrr-i-components), there are some attachments designed with different specifications that can affect compatibility.

The Riot MRR features a robust 75mm box section, whereas the Original MRR (Original Range is launching in early 2025) has a sleeker 60mm box section. This size difference influences the fit of certain attachments and accessories. Within each range, you can mix and match components freely, but keep in mind that they’re not always compatible across Riot and Original ranges.

💡Note: We will be constantly developing the range of attachments available to both Riot and Original racks. Though the Riot MRR range will have a wider selection of attachments available over time.

What are the weight capacity limits for each rack?

We have tested the racks with a static load of 500kg - BUT here's why we don’t specify a maximum load for our racks: stability relies more on how it’s set up and used than on a single weight limit. Key factors include whether it’s bolted down, where hooks and accessories are placed, and how much force an athlete applies—all of which impact stability in ways a max load number just can’t capture.

For lifts over 200kg, we recommend bolting down the rack and using either our box safeties or webbing catchers instead of pin-and-pipe safeties. This setup gives you the extra support needed for heavy lifts, keeping workouts safe and seamless.

Are these racks suitable for home gyms or commercial use?

Yes, both MRR ranges, Riot and Original, are suitable for home gyms and commercial use, but there’s a key difference between them. The Riot range would be the perfect fit for commercial settings or advanced home gyms because it offers more increment adjustment options and will be combinable with a more versatile range of attachments, making it ideal for a wider variety of users and workouts. Furthermore, it is cross-compatible with our new Riot Rig range (launching early 2025), allowing you to integrate both in your training space harmoniously.

In terms of sturdiness, both the Riot and Original ranges are built solid with 3mm thick high-quality steel, so you can count on them for durability, whether at home or in a commercial gym. But Since the Riot Rack is heavier, due to its bigger Box sections, its stability is enhanced compared to the Original Range.

What are the dimensions of the modular racks?

You can find all individual dimensions on the product detail page, under the section: Specifications.

Are the racks adjustable? If so, how can they be adjusted?

Yes, the racks are highly adjustable, which is a key feature of both the Riot and Original MRR ranges.

You can customize your setup by adding various accessories and attachments to suit your needs, including storage options or extensions that can be added later on.

Our range of accessories is continuously expanding to ensure that everything you need to build your ideal gym setup will be available in the MRR range. We promise!

In addition, the Riot range is cross-compatible with our new Riot Rig range (launching early 2025)—an important fact for gyms looking to create a connected setup.

Why should I choose Strength Shop's rack over another brand?

For many, this may be just a cage, but for a few of us, it's our favorite place. If you feel the same way, quite simply you should choose our racks—we have built these to meet the needs of serious strength athletes and to handle a literal tonne of weight. Whilst other brands may say it, we truly live and breathe the philosophy of "designed by athletes, for athletes"- our product developers have poured their hearts into creating this exciting range of racks and attachments, which are built to perform and last. We believe this should be a product that can be handed down to the next generation.

With headquarters in both Berlin, Germany, and Motherwell, Scotland, our small, dedicated team works with passion and precision to bring you top-tier solutions for an economical price. We’re not just about selling racks; we’re about fueling your love for the sport, because we share it too. If you're serious about your training and crave gear designed by people who truly understand what it takes, then this is the perfect match.

Are these racks compatible with attachments from previous Strength Shop cages?

No, the old cages had 25mm holes, but the new modular racks (MRR), including both the Riot and Original systems, now use 17mm holes for attachments and bolts.

Our why: More Flexibility. With smaller holes, you get more adjustment options, letting you fine-tune things like rack and safety height and where you put your accessories. This means you can set everything up tailored for your height, lifting style, or the range of motion you need. Whether you're doing squats, bench presses, or other exercises, those smaller adjustments help you get a setup that works best for you. It's especially useful for athletes with different body types or specific training goals who need their setup dialed in.

What does westside spacing mean? What's the benefit?

Westside spacing refers to the hole spacing on the uprights of our Riot MRR racks. In a Westside-style rack, the holes are spaced closer together—25mm in our case—so you can make more precise adjustments when setting the height of your bar or safety pins. The big advantage is that it helps you dial in the perfect setup, especially for moves like the bench press, where small changes in height can make a big difference in the lift-off. It's also great for lifters of different sizes, ensuring you can position the bar at the ideal height for both lift-off and safety.

How do I choose the rack depth that is best for me?

To choose the best rack depth for your needs, consider the following differences between rack options:

  • Compact Rack: Offers a compact, balanced design with solid stability, ideal for home gyms. It’s perfect for those who want a versatile, all-around performance rack that handles heavy lifting without taking up too much space.
  • Standard Rack: Provides maximum stability with a larger footprint. Best for serious lifters or gym owners needing a durable, spacious setup that can accommodate additional workout stations and attachments.
  • Compact Half Rack: Compact and space-efficient, ideal for small home gyms or garages. It’s highly versatile and sturdy, fitting tight spaces without compromising on strength.

Customization

Which attachments are compatible with the modular racks?

We aimed to make this as straightforward as possible. Here’s what you need to know:

  • All attachments labeled 'Riot MRR' and 'MRR compatible' work seamlessly with the entire Riot MRR range.
  • All attachments labeled 'Original MRR' and 'MRR compatible' are fully compatible with the entire Original MRR range.

Just be sure not to mix 'Riot MRR' and 'Original MRR' attachments, and you’ll be good to go!

Can I add additional pieces to expand the rack later on?

Of course! We understand that budgets can change, just like training needs and available space. That’s why our modular range is designed to adapt to your requirements, whether in sports, training environments, or budget. You can start with a standard rack now and, for example, easily add storage solutions later. Additionally, you can customize your setup by creating a double rack or any other configuration that suits your needs.

Assembly

Is the rack easy to assemble?

The racks are designed for straightforward assembly, making the process as hassle-free as possible. Each set comes complete with all the necessary bolts, nuts, and washers, along with a detailed assembly sheet that provides clear, step-by-step instructions. While it’s possible to assemble the racks on your own, we highly recommend enlisting the help of a second person due to the weight of the components.

Which bolts are used to assemble the racks?

All nuts, bolts, and washers used for assembling are M16, with a 24mm ratchet tool required for assembly (not included).

Safety

Are the modular racks stable for heavy lifting?

Our modular racks are specifically designed to support heavy lifting, with rigorous testing that confirms they can safely handle up to 500 kg. However, we always advise using ✨common sense✨ and taking extra precautions for your own safety. You can enhance stability by bolting the rack to the floor, using spotters, and never dropping a barbell from height, even in case of a failed lift. Instead, always lower the barbell with caution using safety mechanisms. The impact of a dropped barbell can depend on factors such as angle of fall, height, weight, and safeties used. So, while our racks are built for heavy lifting, it’s essential to prioritize safety and avoid dropping the bar.

Can the rack be bolted to the floor for extra stability?

Yes, you can bolt the rack to the floor for extra stability. Each upright has pre-drilled holes to make it easy. Just keep in mind that we don’t provide the tools or bolts since those will depend on your flooring type.

Are there any weight limits for specific attachments (e.g., pull-up bars or dip bars)?

Yes, there are specific weight limitations. The pull-up bars and dip bars are tested for up to 200 kg. Exceeded that weight? If so, let us know so we can adjust the maximum load capacity and feature you on our page! 😎

Benchmark of Precision - Strength Shop’s Calibrated Competition Plates

Calibrated plates are to the ambitious athlete what the hammer  is to Thor. This high-end piece of equipment is now among our strongest tools for Powerlifter or Strongman and Strongwoman.

Manufactured according to international competition standards, these Powerlifting Plates, often referred to as calibrated steel plates, feature the IPF colour-code for fast recognition of the weight. The coated cast-iron plates come with a velvet matte finish, raised details — like our brand logo, weight unit in kilograms and are cut super thin. All plates have a 50mm collar opening to ensure a very tight fit on the barbell. A thin lip around the Calibrated Powerlifting Plates aids in handling the plates safely, while loading or storing. Our Calibrated Plates are IPF approved, which means they are optimal for competitions.

What Are Calibrated Weight Plates?

Our Calibrated Powerlifting Plates offer maximum accuracy for weight loading in training and competition. Slim designed plates allow for maximal loads, which is essential with having strength sports like Powerlifting or Strongman and Strongwoman in mind. On the back of each plate, two pins are used to fine-calibrate within +/-10gr of each weight plate. As a result, the discs have maximum accuracy. That's what matters; that's what the athlete can rely on.

Just like you, we take our training very seriously and have been working on our calibrated plates for a long time. Now that they are here, we are proud to finally offer you plates that combine maximum precision and quality.

Do you want to save some energy while loading and unloading the barbell? Our Mini Deadlift Jack will be your helping hand.

Please note: The inner colour coating of the centre hole might come off with first use, and the plates could be a little harder to put on. Don't worry, this is not a flaw in production, but due to the manufacturing process and will resolve over time.

Reviews: what others say about our belts

FAQ

What’s the benefit of a lever belt?
Lifting belts are made to support your spine by increasing pressure in your core. By using a belt, you increase the intra-abdominal pressure in your body– meaning you can lift more weight and help prevent injuries. However, it’s not a replacement for proper lifting technique.

Unlike belts with one or two prongs, lever belts only need to be adjusted the first time you use them. This makes it faster and easier to put on and take off the belt without fiddling with the prongs each time.

Should I choose the 10mm or 13mm Lever Belt?
Both belts offer substantial support. The main difference is that the 13mm belt has extra material, making it slightly thicker and offering slightly more support. If you're a beginner or haven't used a lifting belt before, you might find the 10mm belt more comfortable.

How does the warranty work?
Our stainless steel buckles come with a Lifetime Performance Warranty. This warranty covers performance-related issues. You can read our full terms and conditions here.
