Riot Weightlifting Bar 2.0 – Women's (15 kg)

Overview

The Riot Weightlifting Bar 2.0 is a 15 kg Olympic weightlifting bar built to IWF women's specifications. Its 25 mm shaft, moderate 1.2 mm knurling and absence of centre knurling suit the grip and front-rack positions used in the snatch and clean and jerk. Precision needle bearings give the sleeves fast, consistent rotation, while the shaft produces responsive whip under load. The bar was designed in-house and uses the mid-width Riot sleeve collar shared with the men's Weightlifting Bar and the Hybrid Bar.

25 mm Olympic weightlifting bar with needle-bearing spin

Each sleeve rotates on precision needle bearings. Inside the bearing, a ring of slim steel rollers runs around the shaft and supports the sleeve as it turns. A bushing system creates rotation across a sliding surface, while the rolling contact inside a needle bearing produces considerably less friction. This allows the sleeves to spin quickly and consistently during explosive Olympic lifts.

During the turnover in the snatch and clean and jerk, the sleeves can rotate independently of the athlete's wrists. This reduces the twisting force transferred through the hands and wrists as the bar changes position. The fast sleeve rotation supports a smoother turnover and helps the athlete move under the bar without fighting against its rotation.

The 25 mm shaft is thinner than the 28 mm shaft used on the men's Weightlifting Bar and flexes more readily under load. The shaft loads and bends during the pull, then rebounds as the bar moves through the turnover. Combined with the low-friction sleeve rotation, this creates a lively, responsive whip through the pull, turnover and receiving position.

Hard chrome finish and Riot sleeve design

The shaft and sleeves have a hard chrome coating. The same coating is used on the sleeves throughout the Riot bar range. Its thin, bright and dense layer helps protect the steel against rust, abrasion and repeated contact with plates and rack hardware.

Because the coating closely follows the profile of the knurling, the moderate 1.2 mm pattern retains a firm and "locked in" feel. This combines surface protection with the grip required for regular snatch and clean and jerk training.

The angled, faceted sleeve collar is part of the Riot range's in-house design. Viewed from one side, its profile recalls an Olympic torch. From the other, it resembles a blade. The collar also helps distinguish the different bar types within the range.

On the Weightlifting Bars and the Hybrid Bar, the sleeve collar has a mid-width design. It is wider than on the Riot Power Bars and narrower than on the Squat and Deadlift Bars.

Every Riot bar uses the same identification system: the name, weight and shaft diameter are laser-engraved on the inside of the sleeve collar, so the specifications remain legible throughout the life of the bar, regardless of how it is stored. The end cap shows the key information at a glance. It is colour-coded by weight, yellow on this 15 kg bar, and has the weight printed directly on it, allowing anyone in the gym to identify the correct bar for the relevant discipline immediately.

FAQ

Is this women's Olympic bar IWF-compliant?
Yes. The 15 kg weight, 25 mm shaft, 201 cm length, 91 cm grip markings and absence of centre knurling follow the IWF specifications for women's Olympic weightlifting bars. The bar is IWF-compliant but does not carry official IWF certification.

How much does this Olympic weightlifting bar weigh?
The bar weighs 15 kg. Its yellow end caps follow the weight colour code for a women's Olympic bar and display the weight directly, making the correct bar easy to identify on a busy gym floor.

What are the dimensions of this Olympic barbell?
The bar is 201 cm long and has a 25 mm shaft. The sleeves measure 50 mm in diameter and are made for standard Olympic weight plates.

Why does this bar use needle bearings?
Each needle bearing contains a ring of slim steel rollers around the shaft. This creates low-friction sleeve rotation and allows the sleeves to spin freely as the bar moves through the turnover. During the snatch and clean and jerk, the sleeves rotate independently of the wrists. This reduces the twisting force transferred through the hands and keeps the turnover smooth as the athlete moves under the bar.

What is the difference between the women's and men's weightlifting bars?
The women's bar weighs 15 kg, measures 201 cm and has a 25 mm shaft without centre knurling. The men's bar weighs 20 kg, measures 220 cm and uses a 28 mm shaft with centre knurling. The thinner 25 mm shaft flexes more readily under load, giving the women's bar a lively, responsive whip through the pull and turnover.

Can this bar be used for powerlifting?
It can be used for general barbell training. Its 25 mm shaft, responsive whip and fast bearing rotation are designed around the snatch and clean and jerk. A Power Bar or Hybrid Bar is better suited to regular heavy squats, bench presses and deadlifts.

Why does the women's bar have no centre knurl?
The IWF specification for women's bars does not include centre knurling. The smooth centre section also limits unnecessary contact with the neck and upper chest during front-rack positions and repeated Olympic lifts.

What is laser-engraved on the bar?
The product name, bar weight and shaft diameter are laser-engraved on the inner face of the sleeve collar. The placement keeps the specifications easy to read when the bar is hung, stacked or stored collar-first. The yellow end cap repeats the 15 kg weight for quick identification.

Why does the sleeve collar have this shape?
The angled, faceted sleeve collar is part of the Riot range's in-house design. Viewed from one side, it recalls an Olympic torch. From the other, it resembles a blade. The women's and men's Weightlifting Bars share this mid-width sleeve collar with the Hybrid Bar. Its profile sits between the slimmer collar used on the Riot Power Bars and the wider version found on the Squat and Deadlift Bars.

La tengo un par de meses y va bastante bien, giro suave, agarre más agresivo en los extremos y más suave conforme se acerca al grip de la cargada... espero que dure así mucho tiempo, si es así una de las mejores barras que he comprado.
